Oregon Trail?

DLC is the Dysentery Lupus Cholera add-in, also known as poor food preservation techniques.

its not really egregious when it’s over 300 DLC packs which are quite often made by 3rd parties and officially sold through the store.

It’d be like if Skyrim mods cost money and people complained that getting all of the mods was going to be expensive.

Also, in the case of FSX, there’s quite a bit of freeware out there; not as detailed as the paid versions but it’s a decent option. Can’t speak for Train Sim

True. I’ve found a lot of great freeware gems over the years, including some made by commercial developers like ORBX, and this introduction has made me buy several of their payware products. Except for some missions or whatever you call them, I haven’t seen a lot of freeware for TS, and this is a bit of my gripe. These days everyone seems to be looking for a payday (see the hundreds of on-demand TV channels instead of just getting something like Netflix for an example), and I miss a bit of the good old days when people created add-ons for fun and not necessarily for profit.
